Q: What types of clams can the CLAM RAM be used with?
A: The CLAM RAM can be used to open most Littlenecks, Middlenecks, Topnecks, Cherrystones, Quahogs, and Chowder Clams.The CLAM RAM can not be used to open Oysters.

Q: How do I care for my CLAM RAM?
A: The CLAM RAM can be easily cleaned with soap and water. The CLAM RAM should be throughly dried before storing. The hinge can be lubricated with a drop of vegetable oil as needed.

Q: What should I do to prepare my clams before I open them with the CLAM RAM?
A: Proper preparation will help remove any sand, and make opening the clams even easier.

How to Prepare Clams

STEP 1: Clean clams with a stiff scrub brush under cold running water, discard any clams that remain open after being tapped with fingers.

STEP 2: (Optional) Soak clams in mixture of 1/3 cup salt + 1 teaspoon cornmeal for 1 gallon water for 20 minutes. Drain water; repeat up to 2 more times without cornmeal. This process will help to expel any sand that may be in the clam. Note: Many store bought clams have already been purged of sand.

STEP 3: Place a wet paper towel over the bowl of cleaned clams and place in the refrigerator for 1 hour previous to opening them with the CLAM RAM. This will help relax the clams keeping the meat tender, and making them easier to open.

A: We use the United States Postal Services (USPS) for shipping. Shipping prices are based upon your delivery location. All products are shipped from our East coast warehouse.
